A man drowned on the Kennebec River yesterday after being thrown from a boat, and a Cambridge city employee was found dead from a gunshot wound early Saturday morning in what appears to be a tragic weekend for the area. Three firefighters were also injured overnight battling a house fire in Braintree, though conditions should improve today with mostly sunny skies and a high near 79°F.
